This latest entry in the I Can Read! series about floppy-haired Biscuit sees the pooch and a girl in a blooming garden, where they look at flowers, find a worm, and feed the birds. For each exciting thing the girl points out in the garden, Biscuit answers with a “Woof! Woof!” Once birds are introduced, there’s a cacophony of tweets to add to the woofs. Emergent readers will have fun with these sound words, which are reinforced through repetition, and with the other basic one- and two-syllable words throughout (there’s also a three-syllable challenge: butterfly).
